Cynthia Amoah is a spoken-word artist originally from Ghana. She completed her MFA at The New School and has been featured on the stages of TEDxDrewUniversity, TEDxOhioStateUniversity, and many more. Cynthia’s literary pieces often highlight the forgotten stories of the world, while transcending the oftentimes marginalized groups she delineates in her work. In 2016, she served as a writer for Maroon Arts Group, where she joined 7 other writers in the creation of a social-justice centered choreopoem that came to life on the stage in June 2018.

Cynthia also debuted an all-woman poetry showcase, “Women & Words,” featuring Ghanaian writers, poets, and artists in Accra, Ghana in December 2018. Cynthia's poignant poems often explore themes of community, the value of culture, and a dedication to self-identity.When not found writing or performing, Cynthia enjoys traveling and spending time in Ghana, where the “moody weather” of Ohio cannot find her.
